Interpreting A Criminal Background Report

If you are reviewing a criminal background report and you are not seeing the detail of the offense to determine the severity of the crime, it could be due to the fact that certain jurisdictions do not share criminal records electronically.

You may see, on the criminal background report it says: Description: NOT PROVIDED BY SOURCE. This indicates, this person has something on their criminal record, but the county does not share criminal records electronically.

For these instances, we recommend the landlord/property manager to call the courts to find out the details. Jurisdictions that do not share criminal records electronically are outside of the scope of what Lease Runner offers. Our services are designed for a fully electronic, on-line experience.
