Credit scores differ by permissible purpose even if two different reports are processed on the same day by the same credit bureau.
Permissible purpose can be:
Tenant Screening
Mortgage Application
Car Loan Application
Credit Card Application
Employment
Credit Monitoring
Each permissible purpose has a different level of risk therefore, credit scores for each report will be different.
For example: Typically, there is more risk assigned when screening for purposes of tenancy vs. monitoring your credit, therefore, the tenant screening credit report may have a lower credit score assigned to it than the credit score given for credit monitoring purposes.
